Principal duties consist of assisting the Cable Splicer in splicing operations on primary voltage feeders, secondary voltages and installing and removing cable from ducts. This includes handling material, tools, guiding and pulling line, cutting, lead shaping, melting & sealing, training and retraining cable. Work is also performed in manholes, tunnels, vaults, sub-stations and on transformers. Loads and unloads cable reels, pumps out and cleans manholes and ducts, drives and operates cable installation vehicles and performs other duties as required.
