June 2004 - June 2012: Supervisor, Quality Systems Analyst and Flight Safety Officer Specialist

MAGELLAN AEROSPACE CORPORATION, Mississauga, Ontario

Professional Accomplishments - Quality Systems and Process Improvement:

• Reported directly to the Director; Quality and Manufacturing Initiatives in the repair and overhaul of gas turbines engines (e.g. J85 and F404) and manufacturing of components for aerospace and industrial applications - including industrial Power Generation Packages. Key project management team member in the company obtaining AS 9110 certification - only two other Canadian companies were previously certified.

• Led RCCA improvement project resulting in more effective and timely response to customer concerns

• Trained and directed 18 Quality Assurance inspectors and NDT technicians to significantly reduce errors.

• Prepared several Quality Assurance / Policy manuals and procedures for military and civil aviation repair and overhaul contracts based on ISO 9001, AS 9100, AS 9110, ISO14001 and Nadcap standards.

• Chaired Monthly Quality Performance Review meetings and coordinated several systems improvements.

• Quality Planning, Design Review, and key Project Management and SME team member in the company obtaining several international contracts for turbine engine repair / overhaul and associated new parts.

Professional Accomplishments - Flight Safety (FS):

• Reported directly to the General Manager / Accountable Executive and directly responsible for the Program Management, development, implementation and receiving approval for the Canadian Forces Flight Safety Program. It included hosting associated external audits. The required tasks included developing the Flight Safety Manual, SOPs, completed internal audits and trained employees. The program included submitting process and systems improvements to address Flight Safety incidents and occurrences based on Canadian Forces Flight Safety Occurrence Management System and it resulted in an improvement to the quality record.

• Project Manager in the implementation of Transport Canada’s Safety Management System and chaired Flight Safety meetings with Senior Management, FS Committee, and employees to improve the Flight Safety program, which included implementing a FS Risk Management System and a "Just Safety Culture".

Dec. 1996 – June 2004: Quality Systems Engineer

MAGELLAN AEROSPACE CORPORATION, Mississauga, Ontario

• Reported to the Director of Quality and during that time I developed and maintained the Maintenance Policy Manual and responsible for the management and implementation of Transport Canada’s Approved Maintenance Organization and European Aviation Safety Agency certification requirements for civil contracts - included training all employees to understand the associated requirements.

• Coordinated Six Sigma continuous improvement projects for operations required to manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and testing of commercial, military and industrial engine assemblies.

• Implemented Cost of Quality Program and completed associated process improvement projects.
