Lead Production Artist/Designer

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Spring 2011-Summer 2011

Free Agents Marketing 1039 Champions Way, Suffolk, VA 757-***-****

Lead Production Artist-

With this Advertising Agency, I facilitated and implemented many different aspects of our corporate branding

design and brand activities. This included, but was not limited to; logo artwork creation, management of brand

guidelines, creation and management of stationery and collateral systems and also design of artwork for marketing

materials/campaigns. I was given the tasks to also re-touch images for use in presentations, create advertising

templates, as well as archiving and organizing all of our older files. I was relieved of my duties due to unfortunate

budget cuts.

Fall 2006- Spring 2011

Vista Graphics/Hampton Roads Magazine 1264 Perimeter Pkwy. VA Beach, VA 23454 757-***-****

Lead Designer-

As the Lead Designer for multiple publications, I developed and created consistent production work across a numerous

amount of media. I also designed and produce various printed materials, mostly magazine advertising and some

brochures. Additionally, I designed and created graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs, such

as packaging, displays, or logos. While doing these tasks, I was also a contributing designer to one of the area’s

largest full color print magazines (Hampton Roads Monthly). Quality control, being deadline orientated, as well as a

conceptual thinker helped me achieve success while employed.

Summer 2005- Fall 2006

Langley Airforce Base Hampton, VA 23669 757-***-****

Creative Director/Contractor-The Flyer-

While also still working with Targeted Publications, I was contracted to work at this Military Based Publication.

I had to conceptualize and layout a weekly publication. In addition, the position required that I create a number of

“Inserts or supplementary magazines. All required extensive editorial and creative layout. The Flyer

required that I follow strict guidelines while pushing the limits of creativity in a military based environment. The

supplements also allowed me to flex my creative muscles so to speak, with the luxury of a 4 color magazine

environment. All this would usually take place in a condensed weekly time frame.

Summer 2005- Fall 2006

Targeted Publications 258 Granby St. Norfolk, VA 23505 757-***-****

Graphic Designer -

I played an integral role in helping launch many monthly publications some with a run of 50,000 copies.

My role included the following: The conceptualization and development of multiple advertisements for multiple

clients, direct contact with each of the advertisers on the phone, over e-mail, and occasionally in person,

assembly and transference of each magazine/publication to an off site press, development and implementation of

a streamlined production workflow model, and working under strict deadlines. In this position I was able to

increase my speed as a designer, cultivate my design skills and learn all aspects of the Targeted Publication

businessmodel.

Fall 2005-Summer 2005

Virginian Pilot 258 Granby St. Norfolk, VA 23505 757-***-****

Internship-

Under Debby Cooper I paid my dues, but was able to observe, listen, and learn about the advertising industry.

My largest and most complex task was the cataloging and organization of the company’s’ extensive font library.

This naturally gave me a new understanding of fonts, which has drastically improved my work. I also worked on

numerous publications such as The Autoguide, The Apartment Book, and many others.
