• Performed Occupational Safety duties to include but not limited to hazard analysis, which included anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling occupational hazards in the workplace. Participate in facility work planning and recommend control practices to ensure compliance with applicable DOE orders and regulations (OSHA) related to the control of potential worker injury or illness. Monitor the conduct of work to ensure specified controls are effective in preventing or limiting potential for worker injury due to hazardous substances or conditions. Investigate issues alleging potential hazardous working conditions, participate in Occupational Safety program development and implementation for compliance of applicable DOE orders and regulations (OSHA), conduct walk downs and participate in preplanning of work as needed to ensure that hazards and mitigation actions are identified.

• Working with clients in a variety of environments. The duties preformed for my clients have included but are not limited to the following; Training, the design scheduling and implementation of mobilization training for over 450 craft people as well as constant on the job hazard awareness training. Safety and Industrial Hygiene program development and improvement by reviewing and rewriting existing policies and procedures, then implementing the changes by gaining buy in from all stakeholders. • Department of Energy: Savannah River Site Safety Engineer for Area Completion Projects Managed a wide range of safety issues, including, development of Site Specific Safety and Health Plans for the remediation of Hazardous Waste and Radiological areas. Designed and implemented safety plans for the removal and stock piling of Four Hundred Thousand Yards of Soil. Oversaw the tree removal, excavation and remediation of over One Hundred Acres of contaminated ground. Planned and managed the Characterization of Twenty Three Miles of Ecologically Sensitive Wetlands Area. Managed various subcontractors to perform at stringent DOE safety standards

• Yonkers Industries: MERCK VMF 102 Project Safety Manager; successfully took control and developed a program that managed and monitored contractor safety programs and organized and trained area safety teams that took ownership of their safety and health concerns and I qualified the project for OSHA VPP status in only 3 months.

• Morton Buildings: As the Director of EH&S, I guided the Safety and Industrial Hygiene program for a company with 2500 fulltime employees, that operates in 40 states and has seven unique manufacturing plants. While fulfilling my considerable responsibilities I had four direct reports. I implemented programs that have reduced the incident rate by 30% and trained over 100 first line supervisors in the OSHA 30 hour program.

• Kenny Construction Company: Project Safety Manager for a 100 Million Dollar Condominium Project administering a CCIP with over twenty participating companies.

• WE Energy, Oak Park Chimney Corp: Project Safety Manager where I oversaw the Safety and Industrial Hygiene program for the Demolition of a 450’ Industrial Chimney, working closely with WE Energy insuring all Safety and Environmental procedures were followed.

• Imperial Sugar: Developed and started implementation of improved safety plans including various lock out tag out, confined space programs, noise and other industrial hygiene concerns for two of their sugar manufacturing facilities.

• Northern Indiana Public Service Co: I designed and implemented programs that safeguarded 100 Boilermakers during the removal and replacement of an 850 ton Boiler

• US Steel: I designed, wrote, implemented and conducted Safety Orientation training for over 450 craft people. I was also key in the re-writing of Aker Kvaerner’s Respiratory Protection Plan and the overhauling of their Site Specific Safety Training Curriculum other duties required the development of job specific Hazard Recognition, Risk Analysis, Risk Avoidance as well as the testing for and the abatement of Lead and Asbestos on several Heavy Industrial Projects.
