WORK & ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE:
After my Medical Graduation (M.B.B.S.),in first attempt,I had 3 yrs of extensive training & clinical experience in Int.Medicine while doing Residency which made me acquire Postgraduate degree in Int.Med.(M.D.) in first attempt.Post M.D.while doing lecturership & Medical officership,a maturity was added to my qualification & experience.Particularly during Medical officership I had an in depth experience of ICU.
While in Dubai apart from being consultant in Int.Med.,a short span of Directorship gave me an experience of Management.We had 10 consultants & a large paramedical staff.Encouragement by my patients & wellwishers made me start my consultant practice which flourished for 20 yrs.During Dubai tenure I was also involved in academic pursuit by actively participating in clinical meetings at Rashid Hosp.(A Govt.Hosp.)
Family obligations & kid’s education made me come back.
Back home at Navi Mumbai Apollo(Apollo Hosp.Initiative) offered a post of Sr.Consultant,which I accepted.My two years tenure made the management offer me a post of Vice Precident,Healthcare which I gladly accepted.This increased the responsibilities.We have close to 30 consultants & superspecialists & a staff of 150.(For two franchises at Vashi & Kandivali.)
The job involves innovating strategies for marketing & sales,improvisation in health packages,constant efforts to maintain best of quality in health service while making it cost effective.So far I had quite a few successes & the business is showing an excellent profit potential.
MY CURRENT JOB PROFILE:
* Ensures complete supervision of all medical operations including patient care activities, optimizing the utilization of services, addressing patient complaints and ensuring that all clinical as well as non clinical processes and protocols are adhered to.
* Provides medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals and policies to improve medical management.
* Responsible for manpower planning, recruitment and credentialing of consultants and coordinating with the Medical Practices Committee for decisions relating to the medical aspects of the facility.
* Provides leadership in coordination of medical and administrative policies of the centre and the medical staff.
* Is responsible for the accreditation of the facility and for implementing, maintaining and improving quality standards of the facility.
* Provides professional medical direction and advice to all medical personnel in the facility
Throughout my long stay in the field of Int.Medicine,close to 30 yrs.,I have been associated with several associations & attended several National & International conferences.
I have also been invited to speak on variety of health & social issues.
I feel confident to accept any challenging responsibilities.
