Quality Manager September 04 – March 07, 2009 ( Held Position twice )
Moved from the Manufacturing Manager role to the Quality Manager role. This was done to provide guidance and leadership to the Quality group. Quality was not meeting expectations ( 50 PPM ) Plant management decided to use my skill in management of a team and knowledge of the production process to improve the Quality department.
Investigate customer defects, provide direction for countermeasure activity, and utilize the team brain storming approach get all departments involved.
Established Quality meetings known as Morning Market, this is a daily on line review of internal and external defects presented to upper management.
Work with the customers (Toyota-Tisa) on overall PPM (Parts per Million) targets for improvement. This was done as a go and see activity to focus on joint resolution of an issue, rather than the issue of documents and no communication.
Report facility status once a month to Corporate Upper Management (QTAS)
Trained peers and subordinates on Naze-Naze and 8 step problem solving.
Gold Shift Production Manager July -07 to February - 08
Responsible for all facets of the operation, welding, seat, and door assembly production on the night shift.
Provide direction guidance to two Front Line Supervisors, 19 Technicians, and 300 team members.
Assigned to the Gold shift to improve the KPI’S, with focus on Safety, Quality, Productivity.
