Professional Resume of Deborah Bryant

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in History in May of 2009 at California State University Channel Islands. Presently I am enrolled in a multiple subject teacher credential program at California State University, Northridge. I plan to finish the program in May 2011. I have worked in an after school program for low income children. It was very rewarding for me to work with these children and to help them to improve in reading and math. Later, I was privileged to work as a teacher’s assistant in a special education class from January to June of 2010. During that time I was assigned to help a boy with cerebral palsy. I worked closely with him and helped him physically to get around the campus and academically I tutored him in math, reading, computers, social studies and PE. I helped him to complete his assignments as directed by the teacher and worked to motivate him to do well in school. There were 12 other students in the class who would also need assistance from time to time. My goal is to teach in an elementary school and teach children of and underprivileged background. I work very well with young children. I believe that all children are able to learn to read when they have the right tools and education. All children should be valued and respected. I aim to motivate children to work hard toward their dreams and to give back to society by helping someone less fortunate than them
