Resume of Sergio Vargas

408-***-**** / ****************@*****.***

CURRENT STATUS

Since my last employment at BAE Systems I have been keeping up my Pro-E and SolidWorks skills at the CAD facilities at ProSource, Inc. In the mean time, I stay busy with construction work which include Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, and Home Improvement consultations. Though this type of work may be low-tech in comparison to high-tech engineering, it allows me to utilize my creative, problem-solving skills typical in the engineering field.

CAREER SUMMARY

I have thirteen years experience as a mechanical designer designing products from concept to full production documents. My experience includes high volume production runs and low volume product cycles, prototyping, calibration and test fixtures. I have experience working with sheetmetal, plastics and metal machining, injection molding, weldments, EMI and RF shielding, thermal and cooling dynamics, and hands-on machine shop skills. I have experience making presentations before peer design review boards, customer and board presentations. I interface well with vendors and suppliers. I possess good verbal and written communication skills. I work well within a team and I manage my time well and complete my work on schedule. My work ethic has enabled me to provide reliable, well-thought-out designs, on time and with minimal debugging cycles that meet the customer’s requirements and expectations.
