Manages the performance of road drivers, supervisors, clerical staff up to 120 in accordance with organizational policies and procedures within company guidelines.

Assist road dispatch by filling in for absenteeism and communicate with dispatch at various terminals and with dock employees to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.

Develop operational plans and budget based on goals and objectives. Maintain accurate records/documentation of training, licensing, testing, physicals, driving records etc.

Assess the scene of an accident from a management standpoint while working with Attorney, Human Resources and perform physical assessment of employee.

Approve payroll using Kronos, approval of vacation/sick time.

Exposed to logistics from the transport standpoint by assisting in the delivery between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of consumers.

Ensure daily, monthly, and annual inspections of vehicles.

Assessing transportation and training needs: evaluating requests for service and current expertise levels of drivers, and creating plans to assure that both adequate transportation and qualified drivers are available to meet current needs.

Defining routes: identifying the most efficient routes and arranging for ample staffing to meet the transportation needs.

Hire, train, supervise, coach and evaluate the annual performance of drivers. Ensure drivers are trained, licensed, tested and certified as required by law to drive vehicles. Design, provide and routinely assess driving, safety and other related training. Collaborate with regional managers and staff regarding driver performance.
