PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Texas Instruments, Incorporated Manchester, NH 1997-Present
Product Engineer
Individual contributor who ensures deliver of highly successful, industry -leading DC-DC, SCSI, and hot swap IC product lines, resulting in more than $100,000,000 in revenue to date. Solves numerous IC design and test program issues.
• Entrusted to manage all aspects of product testing and modification prior to release for major customers and to quickly address and sustain products once Released to Market (RTM).
• Provide excellent service to high-level client through delivery of numerous IC design and / or test program changes, including initiation and implementation of circuit or test program changes that solve design problems, as well as updating test programs to catch failure modes based on customer return study, enabling faster release and post-release support of client product.
• Update test programs, obtain approval for specification changes, perform temperature characterization, evaluate manufacturability of new product releases, review and maintain adherence to customer’s specific requirements, approve or request change to the requirements, sign off once product data from test engineer has been reviewed and proven to be ready for RTM, and assist team to ensure product is released on schedule.
• Implement linear IC design modifications, IC simulations, product cost reductions, yield enhancements, and continuous monitoring of product yield.
• Working knowledge of IC processing and packaging.
• Maintain communications with several worldwide assembly and test facilities to ensure smooth and on-time product delivery.
• Perform Eagle test programming, resolve IC failures to root cause, and issue corrective action.
• Key contributor to an IC that at one time represented 20% or more of company revenue.
• Sole sustaining engineer for IC product line that was one of the top revenue generators in the history of TI.
• Communicated regularly with Designers in remote sites to maintain adherence to changing test fixture and lab test requests.
Filtronic Comtek Merrimack, NH 1996-1997
Radio Frequency (RF) Filter Technician
Optimized functionality of cellular telephone communications equipment through precise tuning and repair of RF filters. Gained valuable experience with network analyzer test equipment.
Howtek, Incorporated Hudson, NH 1994-1996
Reliability Technician, Professional Scanner
Designed and conducted reliability tests and testing prototypes. Tracked Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) by running professional drum document scanner until failure, and then identified problems through experimental changes, testing, and measuring. Key team member on design improvements on major product. Built scanners by hand.
• Examined defective return units and discovered use of unapproved parts that resulted in manufacturing procedure update.
• Performed extensive product testing for full functionality characteristics, including G-force measurement, running scanner extensively at hot and cold temperatures, sine sweep shaker table testing, ESD testing of unit to discover any weakly grounded areas, audio profiling from 20Hz to 20KHz while scanner was operating, also measured and graphed internal temperature at 32 areas of unit while running.
• Designed mechanical and electronic test fixtures, tracked failure trends, and repaired power supplies.
• Identified grounding issue prior to release that prevented serious product recall.
• Employee of the Month recognition.
