Have put the existing ABB PM system back into use and continue to improve its usefulness. Replaced the outside contractor in charge of our storeroom with a supervisor converting to EAM MRO software system to control inventory, ordered all materials and services.

Planning Engineer

Supervised two planning engineers. Responsibilities included overseeing all downturns, reviewing and updating all preplans, Gantt charts, long range planning. Responsible for scheduling of extended outages. Handled outside contractors quotations and bid processing.

• Redesigned and installed deflector curtain in temper mill that improved quality by diverting over spray away from strip also increasing part life from one to six months.

Planner for temper mill and all related services. Planned and scheduled downturns on temper mills and overhead cranes. Made Gantt charts to coordinate all maintenance crafts and outside contractors.

• Reduced maintenance costs per ton while running 15 turns per week instead of normal 21 turns by spreading out preventative maintenance throughout the month while still honoring 48 hour schedule per union contract. Achieved while eliminating use of outside departments and minimizing outside contractors.

Managed maintenance crews on temper mill. Responsible for working with PM system ISO 14001 record keeping, corrective maintenance reports, planning and scheduling mill downturns.

• Designed a spreadsheet (Excel) and entered data for the maintenance department's work order completion percentage. This chart was reviewed with all crews on a weekly basis to allow them to see the discrepancy between crews. By allowing them to graphically see the results peer pressure brought the under performing crews inline resulting in an 11% improvement. Calculated out to 800 additional work orders completed resulting in a $64K annual savings.
