Procurement Engineer (Chemical Plants SBU-Project Management) Jan 2010- July 2010

• This role was created to ensure that all purchases, contracts, commercial ventures undertaken for a firefighting package ($ 1.2 million) were professionally conducted and managed, delivered to a high standard on a timely basis and provide real value for money.

• Achieved continuous improvement through budgeting, supply contracts and supplier negotiation which resulted in savings of about ($ 0.18 million).

• Analyzed data of the previous vendor orders from SAP and used to compare the delivery time and the costs associated with orders.

• Negotiated costs of various firefighting equipment such as water monitor, sprinklers, deluge valve, strainers, Hose and Hose reels with different vendors.

• Expertise in using SAP for preparation of purchase orders and releasing invoices and maintaining bill of materials (BOM). Interacted with Quality on matters of vendor delivered quality and vendor rating systems.

• Efficiently completed the engineering and designing part of firefighting package ($ 1.2 million) for Guru Gobind Singh Refinery Punjab India (EPC Project) within record time of 7 months (original time frame was 8 months).

• Implemented key procurement plans which are aligned with the project requirement and optimum inventory levels to achieve cost savings of about 15 % of the total value of the package without delay in production.

• Responsible for project engineering schedules and forecasts; monthly status reports, KPIs for procurement and change orders. Assisted with design (P&IDs), analysis and project plan for perfect order data warehouse.

• Utilized six sigma and Lean tools such as critical path analysis, Dynamic control analysis and Vendor Managed Inventory, FMEA, KanBan, JIT, Value stream mapping which lead increase in production by 25% and increase in supplier on time delivery by 20 %.
