As a Network Engineer IV, I was directly responsible for the design, delivery and support of the IP data network for a 5000 employee, 146 location public Healthcare Company. With my extensive experience, I was to able to create a network that could adapt to a quickly changing business environment ensuring the network was secure, scalable, stable and cost effective. In addition to my IP responsibilities, I was responsible for branch office design and setup, data center HVAC, security, power management, Enterprise wide monitoring, performance trending and alert notification of over 2400 devices. Some notable accomplishments during my tenure with Odyssey are:
Data network
♦ Managed two DS3 circuits from different tier 1 providers, Frame-over-IP and PRN, and 146 T1 circuits at an estimated annual cost of $1.5 million.
♦ Administered the entire network for 146 remote offices across the United States using SolarWinds Orion.
♦ Responsible for all routers, switches and firewalls configuration backup, maintenance and IOS image standardization.
♦ Configured numerous IPSEC tunnels for disaster recovery, using PIX 5xx, ASA 55xx, 2811 w/AIM, Juniper and NetScreen.
♦ Researched and installed a company-wide VPN solution with RADIUS for authentication from an IAS server.
♦ Designed and implemented a highly secure, Certificate-based and AD authenticated, Cisco wireless network in Corporate and 15 remote offices.
♦ Responsible for all public and private IP addresses assignments throughout the entire company.
♦ Configured and installed a GoogleMini, hardware based index search engine, for searches of the Corporate Intranet.
♦ Installed a Foundry, hardware based load-balancer, to equally distribute the load of designated websites or services.
♦ Installed a failover solution for public DNS hosting for over 80 public domains and was responsible for maintaining and creating records.
♦ Created multiple VMWare servers to reduce power and air consumption for lightly used services and applications.
♦ Racked and installed IBM BladeCenter H and E chassis with Cisco IGESM switches, and configured a FastEtherChannel 4Gbps link to the core
switch with dot1q trunking to route multiple VLANs across a single link.
Security
♦ Created and administered an Enterprise-wide Windows patch management server for servers and workstations.
♦ Administered an Enterprise-wide intrusion Prevention system for network based security by Tipping Point.
♦ Built and administered an Enterprise-wide Web content filtration system by WebSense.
♦ Ran McAfee’s ePO for immediate anti-virus updating, scanning, and product deployment across the Enterprise.
♦ Managed a Cisco ASA5505 firewall’s translations for public access to websites and other hosted services in the Corporate office.
Data center
♦ Designed and managed the installation of a10 ton Liebert A/C unit that required chilled water from the building’s cooling towers.
♦ Coordinated additional air conditioning by reducting two unused A/C units and purchasing a 5 ton spot cooler to add cooling potential.
♦ Negotiated and coordinated the installation of a transfer switch for the use of a building provided backup generator for prolonged power outages.
♦ Oversaw then installation of a 40kVA APC Symmetra UPS with 3 phase Power Distribution Units for conditioning of power and failover power.
♦ Contracted and coordinated the installation of an FM200 Fire Suppression System and the removal of all water lines from the data center.
♦ Designed and coordinated the installation of data center server racks including:
♦ Ladder rack for elevated cable management.
♦ Cable Management trays for fiber cable routing and protection.
♦ Patch panels in every rack for ease of cable management.
♦ Neat Patch panels in the distribution rack with one foot patch cords.

Branch office Management
♦ Assisted in the transition from Novel 6 servers to Novel Branch Office at over 80 remote offices.
♦ Led team in the migration from Novel Branch Office to Windows 2003 R2 Server at over 100 remote offices.
♦ Documented and assisted moving Novel GroupWise mailboxes to Microsoft Exchange 2003 for over 2000 users.
♦ Assisted in determining the process and procedure of integrating over 2500 users from 45 remote sites in a company acquisition.
♦ Planned a project to migrate 105 remote locations from Frame-Relay to MPLS and 45 acquired site from PRN to MPLS.

As a Network Systems Administrator, my primary responsibilities included managing, supporting and assisting in the configuration of over 200 customer networks. Through my support and design, the company was able to provide reliable Internet access to customers, as well as develop a personal relationship with customers. I was responsible for assigning, managing and routing all public IP addresses and subnets for customers, as well as designing and maintaining a network monitoring system. My responsibilities included:
♦ Monitored and supported over 200 customer’s Internet connections provided from via Wireless ISP.
♦ Designed and managed a network monitoring system by What’s Up Gold for the Corporate office and customer equipment.
♦ Maintained and monitored over 20 Base Stations (CO) that supported all clients of the point-to-point wireless clients.
♦ Responsible for customer IP address/subnet assignment, routing, documentation and management.
♦ Assisting customers with NAT and PAT translations and DNS records for publicly hosted servers and services.

As a NOC System Technician, my primary responsibilities included monitoring and supporting customer Internet connections, assisting customer’s with DNS, router configurations, and hosted e-mail services. Through my design and leadership, I was able provide a viable network monitoring solution and later configured the application to cater to the needs of the changing network. My job responsibilities at airBand included:
♦ Level 3 support for customers experiencing connectivity issues, e-mail issues, routing issues, latency issues, and intermittent service issues.
♦ Monitored and supported over 400 customer’s Wireless Internet connections in 6 states using HP Openview, NetCOOL and Nagios.
♦ Standardized and inventoried every Cisco router’s IOS for the company demark in the CPE building.
♦ Managed over 300 wireless radios, signal strength and loss, bandwidth usage, as well as 125 Cisco routers in customer buildings.
♦ Coordinated maintenance windows with customers and repairing issues or replacing equipment accordingly.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
♦ Saved company $25k from ISP for double-billing of one T1 circuit for over two years.
♦ Saved company $42k/month through renegotiating a contract for all remote Internet connections and a DS3 circuit.
♦ Managed circuit outages that met our SLA agreement and forced Telco to provide monthly credits for outages.
♦ Managed and supported an apartment complex’s network of over one hundred units by making PAT translations, bonded multiple T1s in router,
rate limited tenant’s access speeds, monitored bandwidth usage and backed up router configurations.
♦ Merged routed networks of two Corporate offices of over 5000 users.
♦ Converted over 60 customer’s IP subnets, including port based translations, hosted services and publicly hosted domains.
