School Safety and Violence Prevention

• Established a School Crisis Prevention, Response, and Recovery Team.

• Established working relationships with community mental health agencies and law enforcement officials.

• Developed and implemented a Three Year Safety Improvement Plan in collaboration with all stakeholders of HOPE Academy Chapelside.

Grant Writing

• Secured Race to the Top funding for HOPE Academy Chapelside.

• Secured the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant for the Arts and Sciences Preparatory Academy.

• Secured grant funding from the Women’s Relief Association and the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate for St. Francis Xavier Catholic School.

• Networked with community business leaders to secure funding for Miami Inner-City Angels, the first private 501c3 organization to provide scholarships to Miami’s urban youth.
