Production Manager

Responsible for all production in a facility with 11 injection presses, 12 printing presses and 4 assembly lines, facility employs 60 process technicians, maintenance, and management staff. Responsibilities to include scheduling production through 3 different departments (injection department, printing department, and assembly department) to ensure all products are shipped on time. Scheduling all maintenance on equipment and development of a maintenance program. Build SOJT’s for all departments, train all maintenance personnel, work closely with customers to develop quality requirements and a quality system to support their requirements. Develop all production and quality paperwork needed in the plant to ensure all valued information is captured and reported correctly on daily and weekly formats. Expanding the plant installed 3 new assembly lines and installed 3 injection lines this year. Taken production and increased output up to 50% in all areas of the plant.

Responsible for Blow molding Department in an 840,000 square foot facility employing over 220 process technicians, engineers, and management staff. Facility included 12 blow molding production lines, 1 plasmax coating machine, 21 labelers, 15 injection presses, 12 palletizing lines; AGV automated warehousing units, shipping out over 100 loads of product daily. Facility produces 2 billion bottles annually.

Responsible for Blow molder machine rebuild program

Responsible for twelve high speed blow molding lines all delivering a 93% efficiency.

Responsible for eight Master Process Technicians and six Preventative Maintenance Technicians within the facility. Assignments would include training, execution of machine rebuild program, troubleshooting on both mechanical components as well as process theory application for containers.

Assisted five additional Ball Plastic facilities with process and set up training for new PET containers, including Heat Set containers.

Responsible for the development and management of a $3MM annual budget for the Blow Molding Department. This included preventative maintenance and capital projects.

Responsible for assuring the spare parts min / max was maintained on a regular basis. Responsible for all maintenance records including preventative schedules, rebuild programs and component failure tracking.

Developed new innovated processes, equipment, and other applications that assisted Ball Corporation in M&R and down time cost savings exceeding $2MM in one annual period.

Developed and implemented maintenance program and training on new plasmax technology.

Senior Project Engineer 2004 – 2006

Responsible for the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives within the Plastics Division. Additional responsibilities included the following:

Development of a blow molder machine audit process which provided date to determine potential gaps in the maintenance program within each plant.

Lead the team which included R&D to develop a speed-up package for the Series I and II blow molders.

Assisted R&D along with individual production plants with applying process theory to practical application surrounding head set container. (Gatorade, SoBe No Vac Panels)

Assisted external customers in processing application of containers while providing technical support and training.

Supported management during vacancies to assist plant improvement and growth. Areas included training, production, quality and general support.

Assisted in the rebuild program and line enhancement logic on several production lines within the plastic division.

Implemented new technologies utilizing expended air to reduce energy consumption by $1MM within the Ball Plastics Division.

Played a key role in assisting with the start-up of 187 ml Wine Container and Mike’s Hard lemonade Container utilizing state of the art technology in coating applications.

Trained third-party (Safeway, Merced) on new blow molding equipment consisting of maintenance and processing.

Installed the first phase of the speed-up for the Series II Blow Molders taking the machines from 30,600 bpm to 32,000 bpm.
