RELATED PROJECTS:

Rehabilitation of an Interstate Bridge- An assessment of the existing condition for I-81 Bridge in Cortland, NY was performed by visual testing due to lack of access. Suggested testing was researched for a report considering cost and necessity. Three retrofit systems were considered, with the proposal of one system in particular. Due to insufficient capacity of the bridge to sustain loading, shear studs were added to a newly placed concrete deck. Pier and abutments were redesigned to accommodate two additional lanes with additional live loading to existing traffic load. All designs had to adhere to the ACI 318-08 code.

Aggregated Shell Structure- Aggregated shapes were designed in Rhino software and modeled for strength testing in SAP2000. Medium shell structure was redesigned iteratively to a two-inch thickness of 5 ksi concrete throughout, spanning more than 90 ft and 50ft tall at its highest point. All tensile forced resulted to be under 2ksi throughout this shell. Interdisciplinary team of Engineer and Architect worked together to bring the idea of aggregation into practical application.

-Thinnest, most effective shell structure in class.

Warehouse Design – Preformed a complete flexural and shear design of a warehouse structure. Detailing design of the slab, beams, girders and columns under specified dead, live and wind loading to ACI 318-08 standards.
