• Chained security groups by reference (ALB-SG App-SG DB-SG) rather than CIDR blocks, ensuring rules remain valid even if subnet IP ranges change.

• Configured EC2 access via SSM Session Manager instead of SSH keys or a bastion host, eliminating an extra public attack surface while keeping every session logged.

• Set up CloudWatch alarms with SNS email alerts and an AWS Budget alert for proactive cost and performance monitoring, and validated end-to- end connectivity through custom /health and /db-check routes. • Containerized a Flask application with Docker and deployed it serverlessly to AWS ECS Fargate behind an Application Load Balancer, removing the need to manage or patch EC2 instances.

• Built a fully automated GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline that builds the Docker image, pushes it to Amazon ECR (tagged by commit SHA and latest), and triggers a zero-downtime ECS rolling deployment on every push to main.

• Enabled ECR vulnerability scanning and an image lifecycle policy, and scoped a dedicated least-privilege IAM user for the pipeline (ECR/ECS access only) to limit blast radius on credential compromise.
