As a Field Engineer for the Unisys Corporation, I was hired to service the company’s Nordstrom account in the Chicago and outlying suburban area. Am primarily responsible for servicing the Point of Sale systems in the Full Line and Rack stores. The Point of Sale system are comprised of components that include Tiny PC’s, payment terminals, scanners, and printers. If any of these components fail, it is my job troubleshoot and diagnose the cause of the failure and then come to a resolution of the problem, which may lead to completely replacing the component or tracing a connection failure between the components. There are cases when the software on the Tiny PC’s is out of date and in these instances, I would have to re-image the computer to make it conform to the requirements of the company server. Work very closely with the Unisys COE Engineers who provide telephone support to me in the interest of bring functionality back to the POS systems
