Vice President Operations (Lost funding)
Recruited to an early stage knowledge management company to establish and run all Operations including Financial, Human Resources, Marketing departments and Facilities. Responsible for all issues involving: AP/AR, payroll, budgets, financial planning, tax issues, government reporting, establishing processes and procedures, and developing and reporting on recruiting and HR statistics and issues. Implemented a new benefits plan that offered better services at half the price of original benefits plan. Directed staff of five in Finance, Human Resources, and Administrative functions. Responsible for the sourcing and hiring of all difficult to fill technical and executive level positions. Company grew from fifteen to over seventy five employees during my tenure.
· Reported to venture capital firm on financial and budget items.
· Managed external Audit firm to get company through first audit in half of the standard time.

Performed due diligence on small technical firms (less than 100 employees and less than $20M in annual revenues). Provided detail on market analysis, financial analysis, company valuation, intellectual property, and staff and resource evaluation – specifically executive management. Managed nine deals totaling $115M.
Tandem Computers– Cupertino, CA 1992-1994

Director Financial Operations.
Managed staff of 5 employees responsible for operational business projects and financial/business analysis for the MIS Division. Major areas of involvement were:
· Projects - Developed and implemented Corporate Operations Restructure Program, Operations Quality Program, Individual Development Program, and Maintenance Rate Reduction Program.
· Financial - Prepared and presented division budget of $120M. This included all expenses associated with employees, capital, leases, closes, and outlooks.

· Capital Coordination - Managed capital budget of $50 Million. This included capital appropriations, expenditures, asset tracking, depreciation, and development of capital policies and procedures.
