Re: Paralegal / Legal Secretary
Dear HR Manager:
I am interested in full-time, permanent employment in the position of Corporate Paralegal / Legal Secretary at your agency. I would be a great candidate for this position as I have an extensive background working in different areas of the legal field; I am front office capable and always customer service savvy.
I have worked in many areas of the legal field and have done quite well in that work environment. Some areas include corporate, bankruptcy, real estate, intellectual property, trusts & estates, entertainment, matrimonial, family law, and some litigation fields of law in my past employment. Some of the litigation work included high-profile attorneys in both NYC and Albany, NY, fighting for their DUI and DWI clients as well as matrimonial issues. Part of the process included researching documents/case files using Lexis Nexis and or Westlaw when applicable, created discovery documents including exhibits, copied and secured documents for court processing as well as appeared in court for calendar calls when my attorneys had duplicate or overlapping document and or court appearance deadlines. I can still transcribe dictation tapes to create summons and complaints, memorandum of law, deeds, NDA’s, complaints, subpoenas, and affidavits to name a few. I have also created new client file folders and prepared documents for signature and representation.
I possess a great work attitude and am personable and a proactive employee. I also assisted in the preparation and proofreading of correspondence for opposing attorneys, other documents, and forms as required for execution. I am certain my extensive legal background will make me a great candidate for this position.
I look forward to hearing from you to set up an interview to further discuss my skills. The slated salary would fit my requirements at this time. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter.
Sincerely yours,
Lucille Spottswood
