DAWN L. BLISH
PROFILE
I have worked in education since September of 1992 with mostly 6th-12th grades ELA. I feel that also teaching classical Latin has helped me to show students the connections between an ancient language that has over 75% of its roots in our own contemporary English, and 95% of it is embedded in medical and law language. My scoring Parcc Written Task tests and ACT Written Task for Pearson Scoring Green experiences over the last 9 years has equipped me to continue to help my students prepare for the three types of essay writing response prompts (literary analysis, research simulation, and narrative task), as well as the grammar and reading portions. I have a goal to make a difference for my students. I have taught and tutored English for 12+years now, beginning when I lived in Baton Rouge. I gifted ELA at St. Tammany 6-8th8th grades.
I currently teach 10, 11, and 12th grades at East Jefferson High.
