Hello, my name is Jeff Caudell and I would like to share some personal information about myself. I live in
the great town of Clarkesville and I have lived here for approximately eleven years. I have lived in Northeast
Georgia all of my life and love this area. I have been married to my wife Maria for twenty-two years. We have
two children: Andrea (twenty years old) and Timothy (eighteen years old). I have been teaching in Banks
County for seven years, twenty-seven years within the middle school setting with twelve years in the area of
School bus transportation. I am so pleased to share my resume with you and hope for the chance to prove my
abilities to serve you as a truly effective addition to the North Georgia College Staff. Just a quick note, I live less
than a mile from NGTC’s campus and I also hold an active CDL license. I would love to help anyway I could, so
please keep me in mind. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Philosophy of Education
In the educational arena today, unprecedented pressures face a beginning teacher. How I feel about meeting
these classroom problems and challenges will affect the outcome of my teaching career. Eight basic beliefs
underlying what I believe about teaching will reveal my philosophy of education.
First, I believe that by teaching the content effectively, we teach our students an appreciation for learning, and inspire them to reach beyond the classroom. Students must see the enthusiasm and excitement from the teacher about the subject matter in order to become enthusiastic themselves. Second, commitment portrayed by the teacher sets the precedent for all parties involved in a student’s educational career. Third, educators must prove that they care about the student’s progress and are willing to go the extra mile for them. Fourth, a caring teacher promotes the connection between the student and the teacher. Fifth, a good teacher always promotes open lines of communication with the student, parents, and other individuals involved. Sixth, a strong teacher represents and promotes good character always in and out of the classroom. Seventh, in order for a teacher to be effective, there must be cooperation among all parties involved in a student’s education. Eighth, a good teacher has concern for a student’s wellbeing in all areas of life. If the child does not see a teacher’s belief in them, why should they believe in themselves?
As an educator, I want to instill a sense of true moral values, self-confidence, and respect for self and others. Educators have the awesome opportunity to help nurture and mold the God-given gifts to each student in today’s world. The challenge is before us, so we need to take charge and meet that challenge.
In the end, we as teachers need to be daily reflectors and always continue to be life-long learners. We should
continuously strive to produce well-rounded students who can make a positive impact in today’s society. I place
my confidence in the implementation of the eight C’s that sum up much of my educational philosophy: content,
commitment, care, connection, communication, character, cooperation and concern. Last, but not least, I believe in
always offering praise when possible.

Closing Summary
I feel as an educator that I have been blessed to have so much experience in so many different
areas. I started out in Transportation and worked with driving a bus, learning how to deal with discipline
on a daily basis, learned how to work with parents, the public and create the safest environment possible
for every student. As a bus driver, I took my job very serious and pursued the bus rodeo competition and
won every local competition. I won the district competition one year and went to state and realized
just how tough the competition can be in bus driving. I did place in the top 15%, which was exciting for
me. I worked on various discipline plans for my bus, which proved to be very rewarding to me and the
students. Being a bus driver, I learned how to love kids and be their “go to person” if they ever needed help.
I then went on to be a paraprofessional and learned a lot about technology to aid the teachers with
classroom projects and making the classroom setting more interesting. As I pursued my career as a
teacher along the way, I was asked to take over the Alternative School as a teacher’s aide and disciplinarian.
It was very challenging, but it prepared me so much for what was coming in the future of education.
I eventually made my way through college and became a certified teacher. I continued to learn that
the kids come first and building positive relationships is the key to any classroom, school, etc. Being a
teacher you realize that techniques are always changing, learning new forms technology is a must and
realizing that we are all in this together as one team with one goal – student success. Personally, I have
learned the skills and found resources for instructional technology with students and progressed as an
educator in professional development with other teachers.
Throughout my career so far, I have worked with Transportation, Special Ed, Alternative School,
Coaching Sports, working with school clubs, serving on several committees, working in leadership roles
and what has all this done for me? It has made me see things from several perspectives, which is crucial
in going forward in today’s school setting. I have been so blessed and aim to see the continued success
in whatever area I work within the school setting in the future.
