Manage and supervise all security elements and installations within the Area offices to ensure safety and security of people, property and processes.

Interface with other Managers and Area Management teams, staff, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigerian Security & Civil Defense corps (NSCDC), other Government Security Forces, Law enforcements Agencies, Federal Fire Service, in-house & outsourced security personnel, community leaders, local Vigilante groups and other business functions.

Advice the Area Manager on Safety & Security matters.

Efficiently and effectively manage and supervise the in-house guards, outsourced security personnel (2 Supervisors & 40 guards) and armed security personnel under my area of responsibility.

Ensure the safety & security of AEDC’s people, property & installations within the two Area offices of coverage by effective management of day-to-day safety & security activities.

Implement Health, Safety, Environment and Security management systems for relevant activities.

Carryout periodic rounds of checks of AEDC premises, facility & network and inspections,

Work closely with the local police to ensure regular patrols are carried out at all AEDC facilities with my coverage area to prevent commission of crime.

Maintains liaison between AEDC and Police divisions & commands, NSCDC commands, other security and law enforcement agencies, fire stations, nearest hospitals, local vigilante groups, community leaders and their cabinets

& committee members.

Prepare, collate, compute weekly and monthly reports on safety and security incidents using various system or web apps for timely delivery.

Promote and enforce safety & Security guidelines & good housekeeping.

Carry out / deal with investigations of all reported safety & security incidents or nearmiss occurrence including but not limited to incidents of vandalism of distribution network facilities, theft, energy theft, fraud, staff harassment, molestation, threat to life and report same in line with regulatory requirements or provisions (if applicable).

Confirm or reject payments of outsourced security guards and personnel prior to payments.

Schedule, conduct, coordinate, facilitate, participate and/ or lead HSES trainings, HSES meetings, induction, community engagements/sensitization programs, public safety and security sensitization, Wellness programs, audits, analysis (e.g. JHA) etc.

Communicate / create awareness on Health, Safety and Environment messages, Memo, procedures, policy etc.

Conduct or participate in the identification of occupational risk/hazards and implement relevant preventive, mitigate or corrective measures.

Exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.

Carryout investigations, submit reports for recommendation.

Conduct, monitor compliance of toolbox talk and safety meetings.

Produce periodic regional HSES reports and statistical information to AEDC Management.

Train staff, IT students, corps members, outsourced security personnel on safety & security.

Carry out periodic safety and security drills on emergency response.

Monitor and coordinate AEDC's operational activities as it relates to Health, Safety & Environment and Security (HSES).

Ensure PPE distribution and monitor compliance to safety & security procedure

(standard operating procedure) by staff, outsourced guards, armed security personnel.
