Recruiting POC- Launched and trained my site HR team on how to use a new HR system (Talent Force and Fluid), which is used to screen resumes, schedule interviews, track interview candidates who were inclined for the position, and fill vacancies for various entry level and management roles.
New Hire Orientation POC- Streamlined a new onboarding process. Conducted training and onboarding for the HR team, Learning Coordinator, and Learning Manager on delivering new hire orientation presentations. The onboarding presentation included job expectations, data reporting for attrition, company culture, safety orientation, proper safety practices, communication expectations, escalation expectations, and harassment.
Benefits Coordinator- Developed a one-page front and back sheet breakdown of Amazon’s benefits for full-time, flex reduced time (30 hours a week), and part time employees after deep diving a becoming a subject matter expert on all of Amazon’s benefits and perks. The benefits sheet has been implemented by multiple sites in the western region of Amazon. Planned and hosted a benefits fair for open enrollment, while collaborating with regional HR, and data reporting. Additionally, tracking employees’ leave of absences and modified duty, processing I-9’s, collaborating with FMLA leave of absence team to ensure each employee on modified duty is receiving workers compensation and excusing their absences for medical appointments.
Talent Review POC- Developed the guidelines for talent review for our first line supervisors, submitted the guideline changes to upper Operations/HR management, and the guidelines were approved and implemented. Amazon is currently using my guidelines for talent review and determining eligibility to promote.
Employee Engagement POC- Managed all employee engagement for the site. Utilized Amazon’s internal system
(Engage@) daily to review the data and track the number of employees that receive one-on-one conversations from their supervisors. Implemented and led monthly birthday round tables to recognize associates who are celebrating their birthdays and monthly employee work anniversary roundtables giving the employees the opportunity to connect with their shifts Operations and HR managers. Monitored the sites VOA (Voice of the Associate) board review system which allows employees to leave virtual comments on how the site can improve or give recognition to peers for outstanding performances. Utilized as the team’s graphic designer, planning, advertising, and hosting on/offsite events.
Labor Plan POC- Managed the forecasted headcount data at the site to provide operational site managers with trends in retention and attendance, a 2-week forecast of expected headcount was used to determine if staffing changes must be implemented to maintain an acceptable headcount of employees on site, then the site leaders would determine how much mandatory overtime and voluntary overtime will be given to employees.
IRB (Investigation Review Board) for Safety Violations POC- Investigated safety violations and would conduct meetings on proper safety practices and injury prevention, corrected poor safety practices after employees violated the safety policy through retrain or disciplinary action (if necessary), determined the level of disciplinary action for individuals who violated the safety policy, and collaborated with Operations’ management and safety management to focus on setting the safety standard for Amazon’s western region for fulfillment centers.
Investigations/Reasonable Suspicions- Conflict management. Conducted investigations that include but are not limited to violence, harassment, sexual harassment, prejudice, misconduct, violations in the drug and alcohol policy, time theft, attendance, theft, and fraud. Additionally, assigning subordinates investigation cases and training subordinate HR staff on investigations.
Exit Interviews/Terminations- Conducted exit interviews and tracked attrition for supervisors leaving the company. Terminated employees due to poor performance, disciplinary action for investigations, and poor attendance.
Appeals- Designated site leader for employee final written warning and termination appeals. Led the region for 5 consecutive months with appeals ensuring that all terminations were valid according to the policy that was applied resulting in no reinstatements for the site. Monitored this data daily and produced reports that included our sites metrics utilizing v-look up, pivot tables, and conditional formatting to cross reference data from other sites in the region to conduct data analysis and reporting.
Building Communication Lead- Selected by our site HR manager to lead the sites building communication. Responsible for reviewing and approving all site communication which can include policy reminders or revisions, internal career opportunities, upcoming events, and building updates. Trained HR assistants on creating Amazon’s site-specific newsletter (Installments) which are customized, printed, and posted around the site after my approval. Collaborated with operations and support teams prior to designing virtual and physical bulletin boards. Behind the Smiles: (New Hire Orientation) Launched and trained the HR team in Behind the Smiles onboarding process. Assisted the training department with filling their seasonal trainer role and preparing for the new hire orientation launch at our site, during high turnover. I provided the numbers for Behind the Smiles in a recap that reflected a successful onboarding process, positive management and employee engagement, and high retention rate.
Benefits Fair: Planned, promoted, and executed a successful benefits fair for the site, that received positive feedback from the Sr Operational leaders (upper management) and employees. Created a survey for employees to give feedback on prior years benefits events and ensured that the benefits fair was informational and fun, based off the feedback received. I developed a one-page (front and back) benefits breakdown of what Full Time, Flex Reduced Time, and Flex Part Time associates qualify for that was presented to the region.
