Initially hired to work as a PO for a team responsible for making application enhancements/changes that would affect all the business teams that use the application (in-house application of record – Omega)
The requirement gathering and story writing for this team was mostly backend with releases that were not visible. No UAT needed – but thorough developer testing and strict peer review were required.
Worked with the software architect and created a roadmap for feature releases that I presented to the Product Manager, who was also the President for the application. Worked with C-suite executive stakeholders.
Managed the application development documentation, which included the scope of all the requirements on a case-by-case basis.
Worked with team members to address existing technical debt and work out ways to eventually overcome and get rid of that debt. This debt consisted of manual processes to be carried out periodically. For example – clearing out mail servers so that new insurance applications can be received and processed (monthly).
Was later moved to the Data/Reporting team responsible for creating reports for multiple business units/divisions/programs within the organization and to external insurance carriers.
Was instrumental in creating the template for writing user stories in the format – “As a/an (role) I would like to (action), so that (desired result)” in both teams that I was a part of (even though the stories were mostly for back-end releases). This was in Azure DevOps.
In the data/reporting team, I worked with numerous trigger reports, month and year end reports besides the daily and weekly reports.
Wrote user stories to create APIs to Post the periodic reports to secure Digital websites for multiple insurance companies so that the users could retrieve and analyze the necessary information as needed.

Tried to create a list of all the reports that our team was responsible for, along with the server’s name (number) on which each of these reports “lived.” Was successful in getting over 90% of the reports created on this list, making it easier to analyze and diagnose issues concerning the database management systems using SQL.
Was responsible for creating tickets for emails received in the Application Support inbox, and the Data Support inbox on a turn rotation basis. Also responsible for leading the resulting triage calls on the same turn rotation basis.
Some of these reports were for the in-house Reinsurance team. They worked mostly on Treaties. None of the policies were Facultative. Was responsible for understanding the need/ask (gathering requirements) and working with the developer to create requested reports.
Was instrumental in helping the team evolve and mature as a scrum team by helping to familiarize them on various scrum ceremonies (along with the scrum master). Was the acting scrum master on both teams for the first 4 months of my employment before certified scrum masters were hired.
