Work Experience
Teacher/Interventionist
Lancaster County School District-Lancaster, SC
September 2006 to Present
I began working as an Early Childhood Interventionist in 2006 as an Americorps Volunteer; tutoring K5-3rd grade in reading and math. I quickly advanced to a full time position as an Interventionist for 3rd grade Corrective Reading, and fourth and fifth grade reading and math interventionist. For the following ten years, I created and built a successful STEAM Science Lab for elementary grade levels within our school. The position was not funded during Covid, after the closing of schools, and businesses. Many safety measures were enforced and as a Title 1 school, we were just not equipped to do so at that time. Two years after Covid, as businesses began to reopen, I returned to the classroom as a fifth grade assistant. The following year I accepted another position as ATSI Interventionist for learning disabled students in 3rd-5th grade. I am currently teaching an Inquiry Based Science Lab for 4K-5th grade and also a math interventionist servicing first through fifth grade. Inquiry Lab Teacher/ Math Interventionist
