I participate in the formulation and maintenance of individual care plans for each patient and assist the nurses with administering medication to patients as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both.
I am responsible for making and changing beds, tidying patients’ rooms (with the patient’s permission) undertaking light cleaning duties as needed and generally assisting in ensuring that the home or hospital space is kept clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times
I am understanding and patient towards patients and their needs, and encourage, assist and support patients to participate in leisure activities as appropriate to the individual, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. This also includes escorting patients or residents to outside appointments and leisure outings.
