Education
Graduated • Cedarville University• Cedarville, OH
Major: Mechanical Engineering, (BSME), passed the EIT exam.
vision & skillset
The skillset that I bring to the table is that in addition to my academic training, I also possess a strong hands-on mechanical aptitude. I have both a strong understanding of processes but have the technical ability to dive into details. My primary interest is to optimize processes by utilizing my detailed technical hands-on aptitude.
Work Experience and accomplishments
February 2021 – present • Denver Machine Shop, Henderson, Colorado • denvermachine.com
Inside sales, estimation, and project management, manufacturing engineering
oTook customer drawings or created drawings from sketches, sourced materials, and provided quotes as well as DFM (design for manufacturing) consultations for customers.
oOnce estimates were accepted, I managed the project from quote to completion.
oAssist customers with both material selection and informal design assistance so that their components are optimized for manufacturing. This includes but not limited to both design for optimal manufacturing and design/material selection for optimal yield.
oUtilized SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion to create prints from customer sketches.
oSolely responsible for over 50k per month in sales with an over 50% “win rate” for quotes
Purchasing and process optimization
oPurchased materials and shop supplies from a variety of vendors.
oStandardized part numbering for many purchased materials to streamline the quoting and purchasing process in Shoptech E2 (now referred to as JobBOSS2).
oStandardized part numbering for repeat orders in the shop. This allowed us to look at “work history” for recurring work and better understand cost on many of our repeat orders.
Technology consulting
oHaving worked in nearly every area in the shop, I provided consultation to the senior management team on how to leverage available technology to increase shop and worker productivity.
Marketing
oUtilizing GoPro cameras, I documented repair work and wrote case studies justifying many of Denver Machine’s specialties, posting the information across several social media platforms.
Machinist
oDuring slow seasons, I would work in the shop, running CNC machines and “became a billable asset” until work in the office resumed. This work includes both operating and programming CNC mills and lathes.
November 2016 – February 2021 • Front Range Iron Works / CAD consulting (Self Employed)
I have multiple customers with projects that span multiple engineering disciplines.
Below is a non-complete list of customers and projects I have had in 2016 to 2021
Forgeworks (Delta, CO) Role: Brewery engineer / design engineer: Here I designed a 20 barrel brewery in SolidWorks for one of their clients in Arizona. This included tank design, PID plumbing and some electrical design. I also performed efficiency analysis to help sell breweries to an efficiency-conscious client in Summit County, Colorado.
Pete Lein and Sons (Laporte, CO): Project Management: estimate and oversee multiple industrial construction projects. This included managing a crew that installed a 10,000 lb bucket conveyor take-up assembly in their Livermore plant.
Peak Innovations (Johnstown CO) Project Engineering: Project Estimation, CAD design, and drafting as needed. Managed crews installing a seismic simulation table at MSU Denver Auraria campus.
Nitrocrete (Fort Collins, CO) Provide DFM (design for manufacturing) support for existing and new product lines. Mechanical design and design support for new and existing products using SolidWorks.
Upsher Smith Labs (formerly in Denver, CO): Provide high-level technical support and custom replacement parts for equipment rebuilding during the annual plant shut down. This includes designing and machining custom components and working with the maintenance team to ensure that they were properly installed.
Visilift Elevators (formerly in Eaton, CO). Provided CAD optimization services where I simplified an incredibly complex CAD model (SolidWorks) so that it would work optimally with the design department and work well with manufacturing.

Mechanical Design using Solidworks
Manufacturing Engineering
oWorked in the shop as a machinist when necessary or when shop was short staffed.
oCreated CNC programs in Mastercam and Gibbscam
oWrote machine operation manuals for several of the CNC machines
