I am applying for a position with your company. I have experience being a charge nurse, Director of Nursing, Interim ED, Assistant Director, and most recently Executive Director. I know I could be of great service to your company.

Experience

1988-1990

Odd Fellow Rebecca Home

Medication management, dressings, assessments, communication with other staff, patients, families and other loved ones.

1990-1997

Mattoon Health Care

Charge nurse for Medicare wing, charting toward specific goals, Quality Assurance; skin and wound nurse, employees and resident TB testing and tracking, Care plans, Psychotropic medication monitoring. And ordering of Medicare Supplies. During my time at Mattoon Health Care, we were the first to find that Medicare would pay for an air loss Mattress for skin and wound problems.

1997-2015

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center

Clinic nurse for Dr. Gary Michael and Dr. Manoj Matthew. Duties included greeting patients, v\s, data collection, scheduling appointments, scheduling for tests, scheduling for specialists, education for disease processes, assisted with office minor procedures. While I was at the clinic, I was put in charge of ordering supplies for the entire office of five physicians. I kept track of the emergency medications and ordered medications accordingly and did the testing of the emergency equipment. I did the scheduling for the nurse’s time off, letting the float pool know when we would need a float and which physician was in need.

In 2005 I left the clinics and went to part time due to my spouse illness and was the nurse for the SBLHS Adult Day Care where I did accuchecks, insulins, medication management, care plans, communication with patients, families, and other loved ones. I kept all nursing records. When they closed, I worked for SBLHS Hospice. When in hospice I saw patients, made recommendations to the RN case manager, ordered medication, palliative care, and communicating to patients, family members, and other loved ones. During this time, I also filled in for different clinics; family practice, orthopedics, obstetrics, surgical, and anywhere I was needed. This allowed me to meet and get to know several of the nurses, office staff and physicians in this area.

In 2010 I went to work for the Home Health services for SBLHS and worked until I left in 2015 due to medical issues at that time. Home care allowed me to do assessments, order medications, communicate with the physician and the clinical nurses. I got to do in depth dressing changes and do wound vacs and changes, foley catheter changes and insertions, trach care, ostomy care, educating of families and patients on all the above.

2015-2020

Life’s Journey Senior Living

During my time at Life’s Journey, I left from July-November and went to work for Holly Brook of Meridian in Newton, IL. When I started, they had 4 empty rooms and even with 4 moveouts 2 due to deaths, and 2 due to health issues I only had one empty room when I left. I moved 7 people during my short stay. I did all my own marketing, making Holly Brook engaged in the Newton and surrounding communities. I made myself and our home known to all. I increased our Facebook following, tripling the number of followers. We became a big part of the events in the community. Parades, festivals, Veterans Functions, and anything we could for the Chamber of Commerce in Newton from bagging treats to manning the coloring station for Scare on the Square. I did the financials, hiring, and the overseeing of each department. I worked with vendors, and home care and hospice from different companies. I left because my home did not sell, and winter was coming. Also, memory care I feel is my forte.

In March of 2020 I returned to the job of Executive Director of Life’s Journey Senior Living in Mattoon. I created and managed all the Covid 19 policy for our home. No residents had Covid 19 during this time. Our facility was kept Covid free. I oversaw the financials for my building as well as marketing, managing staff, and daily operations.
