I take absence replacement assignments, usually a week prior up to the day of need utilizing the Frontline Application. I arrive at the school a half hour early so that I can check in and go over the lesson plans and read necessary materials and notes before classes start. I usually teach all 8 periods with thirty minutes of one of the periods as lunch break. I’m responsible for each student during my custody and must manage and maintain the class as the Teacher does normally and according to Kelly requirements. Attendance, office documentation for the class, and the daily lesson plan left from the instructor is implemented. It’s usually multiple school and various grade levels for daily assignments. I prefer middle school level across the board, and assignments are offered from elementary to high school in my chosen district. I’m experienced in each of these levels in a variety of subjects. Immersive Drawing for Teens, Immersive Painting for Teens Elizabeth Punches Studio and Gallery-Galveston, TX August 2012 to June 2025
I taught 12 week courses on rotation from the commercial space. There were two levels. The first level and prerequisite to the other is Immersive Drawing for Teens, the second level was Immersive Painting for Teens.
These courses each had a six week public ‘Live Auction of the Studies’ held directly from the Studio with paid staff, departments and functions. The participatory artists were invited in from both inside and outside of the classes for participation and involved a three week collection set up. All of the accepted bids for student work were paid directly to the students. Adult and invited artists paid 20 percent of their bids to the studio. These auctions were held on the community ArtWalk Night, publicized, and was always full auditorium style seating with standing bidders in the front of the house. We held over 130 live auctions, and every piece we auctioned, sold. The courses were based in the studies left and taught by American artist Kimone Nicholadies and utilized his methods and materials. They are structured series of practice that lead to a different way of seeing and approaching the subjects, and building a drawing or painting. I wrote the lesson plans, I managed the budgets, ordered all of the supplies that were included in the courses and reached out to prior students parents for future enrollment interest and orientation dates. My class size varies but commonly average 10-15 students a course. I do this so I can work with them individually as well as in group. The courses meet twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-7 pm, and had in class studio time, lecture time, and home work. I had 5 students who had re enrolled every rotation, concurrently. I developed friendships with the parents, some enrolling themselves in the course to experience it, and I welcome and encourage it.
I love teaching these courses. They offered real time application of very old techniques that require practice, engagement and attention. Students were able to experience a fairly large population viewing and contemplating their work. They were required to be present for their work and be able to talk about it as part of the course regardless of level of involvement. One of the sections of the course was a transcription where they chose the artist, and had to research the artists techniques and materials as well as their history before copying the painting as close to the original as they could get. Fine Artist, Studio Artist
Elizabeth Punches Studio and Gallery-Galveston, TX June 2012 to June 2025
I own and operate a brick and mortar fine art studio downtown Galveston, located at 410 23rd street. I produce oil and acrylic paintings, exhibitions and commissions. I also teach art and specialized drawing classes (immersive drawing, Nicholadies approach and oil basics and techniques.) Classes were offered in rotating 12 week courses.
My jobs through the studio are contracted. Each involve calculating costs in materials and labor, calculating time needed for the materials to set up properly during the processes, and meeting predetermined deadlines. I paint well too.
