Research Experience

Mellon Transfer Student Research Program - Paid Independent Research for Brigid O'Keefe, Spring 2023

●I conducted research under the supervision of Professor Brigid O'Keefe, an oral historian, on oral historiographies and microhistories of African students in Soviet universities during the 1950's-1960's. Primary sources included Adrienne Edgar's Intermarriage and the Friendship of Peoples, Julie Hessler's "Death of an African Student in Moscow," and Yelena Khanga's "Soul to Soul." I presented my research topics at the Brooklyn College's Mellon Conference.

Tow Research Program - Research Assistant for Daniel Campos, Spring 2023

●I assisted Professor Daniel Campos' in his submission and research of the essay, "Sacred Places and Moral Responsibility' Teaching Vine Deloria Jr. through William James." My primary responsibilities included compiling research and reading through "God is Red" and William James' philosophical writings on pragmatism and moral philosophy. I presented our findings at the Tow Research Conference.

Work Experience

Brooklyn College Mellon Transfer Student Research Program - Intern and Cohort Leader

●After completing my research with Doctor O'Keefe, I've spent the past two years assisting and interning for the Mellon transfer research program. My primary responsibilities included editing student's presentations, research papers, and abstracts, as well as working with BC librarians and faculty in providing students with research resources at Brooklyn College. Additional duties included assisting and organizing program meetings between faculty advisors and students, coordinated program end-of-semester conferences.

Brooklyn College Philosophy Department- Copyediting Assistant for Professor Daniel Campos, Administrative Office Assistant 2023-Current

●After completing the Towes Research Program, I spent the summer continuing to edit and compile research for Dr. Campos' essay "Sacred Places and Moral Responsibility' Teaching Vine Deloria Jr. through William James,", which was published in Journal of World Philosophies and presented at Brooklyn College's Philosophy Symposium. Since graduating from Brooklyn College, I have been assisting the Chairperson of the Philosophy Department. My primary responsibilities include aiding full-time and part-time Philosophy faculty with technological, administrative, and scheduling needs. Specific duties include managing the BC Philosophy Instagram Page, co-ordinating each semester's faculty class evaluations, placing work-orders and office-orders from faculty to Brooklyn College administrative personnel.

Telling Room, Editor and Tutor - Editor and Copywriter 2017-2020

●For four years, I worked as an editor and tutor for the Telling Room, a literary non-profit organization. I spent the majority of my time at the Young Writers and Leaders Program, a recipient of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award under the Obama administration. YWL is a nine month literary arts education program for high schools with multi-lingual backgrounds based in Portland, Maine. My primary responsibilities included assisting in developing, editing student's personal narratives, as well as their college admission essays. Weekly responsibilities included attending Zoom and in-person meetings with the Telling Room staff and YWL students to track their progress.

Customer Service Experience

●Eckaus Latta - Retail and Styling Assistant, 2021-2023

Duties included opening and closing up shop, assisting with social media outreach and maintaining Shopify ecommerce platform website, and maintaining heavy sales traffic on the weekends. I managed client relationships, assisted on e-commerce shoots, handled client order pickups and fittings involving NYC store location during NYFW.

Freelance Catering and Private Server, 2017-Current

●I am a recurring catering server at companies Flux Studios, The Grand Bevy, Brooklyn Winery, and Lodger. I have experience catering NYFW afterparties, weddings, corporate business events, as well as private dinner buy-outs.

●Server at Lodger, an event/arthouse cinema space and restaurant in Newburgh, New York. Service ranged from public brunch and dinner service to private dinners, exhibitions, parties, and other events. Catering duties included seating parties of various sizes at a communal table, setting indoor and outdoor areas according to event size, assisting in crating menus and explaining it to guests,
