Transition of the Endoscopy system from Olympus Endo works to Provation MD.

Upgrade of the Hospital's wireless infrastructure, namely, installing Aruba Wireless Points to replace the aging Cisco Wireless Access Points.

Design and Installation of an internal signal boosting system to support our 4G cellular devices inside the hospital in response to complaints from providers and patients that signal strength was limited.

Companies with limited or no in house technology support and management would call upon me to work with them to assist or lead technology based projects.

Designed and implemented a small server and workstation test environment for a research organization.

Served as project manager for several small companies to establish their internet connectivity, upgrade services, and upgrade their infrastructure.

University of Nevada Las Vegas - Police Services Department

April 2006 to June 2014

Over an eight year period I led the following projects to successful completion:

Upgrade of the university's existing Honeywell based purely analog video surveillance system to an IP based Honeywell system. This included the dismantling and replacement of the old bank of tube based monitors to a new video display wall of flat panel monitors, back end servers, KVM switches and Dispatch workstation furniture and furniture for the wall of flat panel monitors.

Upgraded the university's alarm system from an old, outdated system to a more robust windows server and SQL server based system that included a new alarm receiver.

Worked on upgrading the Police Services radios and consoles. This was a team effort with the Dispatch manager and one of her staff.

Upgraded workstations as part of a three-phase project to upgrade the workstations, servers, and operating systems. Operating system upgrades came mostly as installed software as the workstations were upgraded (Windows XP to Windows 7), Servers functions were consolidated, and the hardware was upgraded and that allowed the department to move from eleven servers to fours servers. The server OS's were installed and configured as Windows 2008 servers. Users and applications were migrated to the new server platforms.

Migration of a number of cameras from analog systems to an IP system that was donated to the university. Most of these cameras were on academic buildings and were a part of the original camera implementation funded by a government grant in 2003.

Project lead for the infrastructure improvements in the rehabilitation of a building that was acquired by the university. This building then became the new home for the Police Services Department. Worked with university facilities and planning to come up with the wiring and power requirements for the building prior to the start of renovations.
