Awarded 8 Patents in New Product Design for industrial clutches and brakes. Chief Engineer for a mid-sized industrial company leading product design and development team with members in two different locations (Texas and Wisconsin). Frequently works directly with customers on selecting appropriate design solutions for specific requirements for a wide range of industrial applications. Works with internal customers (Finance, Materials, Operations) to provide engineering inputs budgets, vendor selection and MRB activity on the shop floor. Provides direction to engineering team members for similar activities along with training junior engineers on product features and capabilities.
Delivered to the U.S. Air Force two highly modified 747 (C-25A) aircraft to perform as Air Force One.
Supervised a team of up to seventeen engineers and drafters to conceive, design, and support fabrication of the Mission Electronics Systems Installation into the two C-25A (747) Presidential Flight Aircraft.
Simplified and reduced man hours to design support structure for 747 and 757 aircraft modification programs.
Developed and coordinated through engineering, quality assurance, and shop floor personnel a
“cookbook” style of detail design supports to provide wire harness installation brackets and clamping. The drawing consolidated various types of support designs developments over many different and separate programs onto one drawing for use by many programs to assist in commonality of design, part fabrication and purchase parts inventory. Successful engineering design and fabrication support of an extremely short scheduled aircraft modification program on B-52 aircraft at a customer’s facility. Demonstrated Adaptability and Flexibility in a team-oriented environment to problem solving. Prepared and presented numerous customer and management design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
Prepared formal and informal technical interchange presentations to communicate program status and issue resolution to our customers and upper management to achieve a level of satisfaction and fidelity in program goals.
Key Engineering member on several Proposal efforts to gain new business opportunities. Customers provided with excellent proposal to allocate budgetary resources for new modification programs.
Incorporated Lean Manufacturing and Design Processes into product development. Supported Lean Manufacturing operations by implementing fabrication and design changes on site and in real time to reduce costs and schedule. Initiated a quick reaction drawing revision procedure.
