Regional Controller

Responsible for monthly, quarter and year-end closing process for $60MM region through preparation of financial statements, and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts for 26 partnerships with 100+ healthcare clinic facilities, utilizing Microsoft Dynamics.

Successfully integrated seven acquisitions into my region, from preparing purchase price allocation to transitioning all aspects of the acquired companies accounting functions into the company systems. Responsible for opening balance sheet entries for acquisition.

Managed the treasury function for all partnerships, ensuring cash deposits tie to AR reports, confirm bank reconciliations are completed for all partnerships. Prepared cash vs. revenue report monthly, to ensure reported revenue aligned with cash payments.

Review reasonableness of gross revenue entries and clinic write-offs, and determine the appropriate amount of contractual allowance and bad debt reserves.

Review clinics’ expenses and make necessary accruals and/or reclassifications by preparing and posting journal entries. Review AP for coding and approve for payment.

Prepare monthly variance analysis for all p/l accounts for all 100+ clinic facilities.

Determine and record partner/director/therapist bonuses.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Review analytical trends (visit, net rate per visit, payroll rate per visit and margin rates) for reasonableness and provide explanations for significant changes.

Prepare various ad hoc reports for VPs

Responsible for monthly general ledger close and preparation of financial statements, reconciling various bank accounts, and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts for this manufacturing company.

Responsible for cash management. This included preparing weekly cash flow statements for the CFO and determining investment dollars on a weekly basis and preparing cash forecasts.

Prepared various ad-hoc reports for use by management and board of directors.

Supervision of two accounting clerks – part-time A/P clerk and A/R clerk.

Indirect supervision of 5 person engineering staff in assigning engineers to projects and monitoring workload for all engineers.

Handle job costing for projects, e.g., book direct labor hours and overhead costs to each project, keep track of progress billing and tracking all reimbursable expenses.
