Hiring Team

Dear Hiring Team,

I’m excited to apply for the Product Manager/Product Owner role supporting Storm Insights. This position resonates deeply with the work I’ve spent the last decade doing: translating complex operational workflows into clear product direction, partnering closely with engineering and data science, and delivering high-value features in environments where speed, clarity, and reliability matter.

Across my roles at Webbing, MetTel, and Verizon, I have consistently served as the bridge between customer needs and technical delivery. I’ve led product discovery, shaped roadmaps, written user stories with precise acceptance criteria, facilitated agile ceremonies, and worked hand-in-hand with engineering to drive releases forward. My background is uniquely suited to Storm Insights because so much of my experience has been rooted in mission-critical operations, outage-related escalation work, and helping customers make better, faster decisions using data.

In my most recent role at Webbing, I partnered directly with network engineers and data scientists to define requirements for latency improvements, connection reliability, and operational visibility across high-volume IoT deployments. I translated customer workflows into detailed user stories, managed backlog prioritization, and validated delivered functionality with client-facing teams. I’m at my best when synthesizing ambiguous inputs—customer pain points, performance data, cross-functional constraints—into a clear, actionable product plan. The Product Manager/Product Owner role for Storm Insights stands out to me because it blends strategic vision with tactical execution. I thrive in that duality. I love stepping back to define goals, success metrics, and roadmap themes—and then zooming in to write the epics, run sprint planning, track risks, and make sure what we’re building actually solves the problems we set out to solve. I am also highly energized by the utility space and the opportunity to impact storm readiness, situational awareness, and restoration workflows. This is exactly the type of product work where thoughtful decisioning and streamlined user experience can materially improve real-world outcomes. What I will bring to Storm Insights:

– Ability to synthesize complex operational data into clear product direction

– Hands-on experience writing user stories, managing backlogs, and facilitating agile ceremonies

– A collaborative working style with engineers, data scientists, client success teams, and leadership

– Calm, proactive communication in high-stakes and fast-moving environments

– Curiosity, empathy, and a genuine passion for building products that solve meaningful problems

I would be excited to bring my customer-centric product mindset, technical depth, and operational awareness to the Storm Insights team. Thank you for your time and consideration—I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background can help support the continued evolution of Storm Insights. Warm regards,

Cara Cook
