·Prioritize referrals by their urgency and address them in a timely manner.

·Ensure complete demographics, insurance information and appropriate/pertaining clinical information is sent to referred specialist.

·Review details and expectations about the referral with both ordering provider and patient. Request new referrals to be ordered when applicable.

·Identify and utilize community resources, establishing relationships with servicing providers and personnel.

·Point of contact for patients or specialist for any questions or rising concerns. Assist with problem solving potential issues related to their referral such as language or social barriers.

·Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to the pharmacies.

·Perform clerical duties, such as answering and directing phone calls. Taking and distributing messages. Organizing and scheduling appointments.
