Manager, Design & Procurement of Utility department of steel Making, handling a Turnover of 300 crore business and 7 large contracts (both Govt. and Private) Main customers were Jindal, SAIL, RINL, Tata Steel etc. Highlights:

Executed procurement of utility equipment (Machines, valves, pumps, filters, heat exchangers etc.) & pipeline (Pipes, fittings, flanges, nut-bolts, gaskets etc.) for various projects.

Assisted to develop Detail engineering, drawing of utility systems in various steel plants. Procurement/Purchase – Furnishing appropriate specifications of required materials as per detail engineering, approved drawings, supported by T.S. & G.T.S. Vendor sourcing, Vendor development, Supply chain management, material management, Inventory management, sending enquiries, getting offers, comparative statements, scrutinize & discussions over technical offers from vendors, Negotiation & communicating with vendors. Follow up until delivery. Purchase of materials like, Plates, Pipes, Paints, scaffolding, hydraulic machines, fittings, flanges, nut-bolts, valves, pumps, filters, girders, Furnace shells, machine parts, fasteners, crane, hoists, gears, machines (bending, rolling, cutting), utility equipment, Metals etc.

Design & Engineering – Routing of pipeline with determining position of equipment & pipe fittings considering P&I drawings, medium, pressure, temperature, TS, GTS & contract. Deciding type of equipment & fittings along with specifications. Designing proper supports for equipment & pipeline considering their position & approach.

Planning & Management: Procurement status, project status, memos, clearances, advice, notes. Making schedule for execution of engineering, drawing, supply. Get materials inspected as per QAP, through inspection department. Co-ordination with Client, Consultant, Vendor, Consortium partners. Furnish documents like bar-chart, letters (to Vendors, client, vendor, consultant & consortium partners). Co-ordinate with other departments, Maintain related files.

Drawing- Leading group of draughtsman to generate appropriate drawings with latest version of AutoCAD, following T.S. & G.T.S. and as per engineering requirement. Generating B.O.M. from the drawings.

Achievements:

1) Completed Supply & Fabrication, (assisted with Detail engineering & drawings) of Utility facilities of Laddle Furnace-II at SAIL, Bokaro (M/S STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LTD. BOKARO STEEL PLANT, BOKARO, JHARKHAND.) within 8 months, where as scheduled time was 12 months. 2) Completed Fabrication, Supply (within 9 monts) of Furnace proper, blower house, stoves, chimney, SGP, utility pipeline etc. of Blast Furnace-1 (Category-1 Capital repair) RINL, VSP, Vizag, Total project within 1yr 2 months.

3) M/S RASHTRIYA ISPAT NIGAM LTD. VIZAG STEEL PLANT, VISAKHAPATTANAM, ANDHRA PRADESH. Procurement, Supply, furnished BOM (Helped in Detail engineering & Drawing) of Water system Pipeline of 3200 CUM Blast Furnace 2-Capital repair, category 1. 4) M/s AM/NS, Hazira, Surat, Gujrat, Coke plants.
