PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
In my last position with the Department of Environmental Quality, I managed 4 programs with a total staff of 10. I was involved with licensing, inspections of licensees, review of rules and regulations, and with enforcement of those rules and regulations. I was called upon to conduct workshops and to present at national meetings several time per year. I worked to update administrative rules in the Radioactive Materials Program to assure compliance with Federal requirements. I worked with other divisions within the department to promulgate and implement the rules to regulate Technology Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (TENORM) as a result of activities in the oil patch. I am trained as a Radiation Safety Officer. I represented the State of North Dakota on the Southwest Low- Level Radioactive Waste Commission, as the State Liaison Officer to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and as the Director member to the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors. Assisted with budget for these programs including salaries, procurement, and program review to assure compliance with state and federal regulations.
My training and experience include asbestos mitigation, lead based paint and radon detection and mitigation. Capable administrator with a wide range of experience in directing programs on a State level as well as local level. Advised other campuses across the state regarding regulatory compliance issues. Regularly organized and chaired meetings as well as presented data and trainings utilizing multiple software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and numerous other software programs. Managed 4 programs working with educational agencies at the local, state, and national level including the US Department of Education, and performed academic program review and assessment for effectiveness. Negotiated settlements in disputes as a Mediator and as an Arbitrator in Binding Arbitration.
