MDC provided 14,000 patient visits per month, performed 650 drug and alcohol detoxifications per month while receiving an average 250 new inmates per day. First year turnaround included increased annual bottom- line profitability totaling over $750,000; creation of new business culture focused on increased staff and provider productivity and system operational efficiencies; directed organizational change and staff accountabilities to attain final compliance with stalled 14-year-old Federal class action lawsuit and reducing recidivism.
