With no sight of long-term work with Electricians Local #306, I tabled my Union Card No. D779928 and went to work for Copen Machine for eight years and brought three small buildings up to the 21st century with new lighting, electrical panels, IT closets, Camera systems, door locking systems with employee key fobs. Redesigned and relocated Air Compressor room to service two buildings. Designed and wired $520,000 addition which included docks for delivery and pick-up. Learned to operate and maintain the Studer S22 Grinding machine with add on robot and a HIM controller along with two other Grinders. Maintained 18 Citizens CNC metal lathes with 12-foot bar loaders. Maintained multiple Bridgeports and forklifts. Set-up all new maintenance manuals and closet. February 2005 - March 2012 Layoffs started with bad economy.
