IBM • June 2015 - April 2024 - Research Triangle Park, NC
Agile Coach and Process Improvement Subject Matter Expert
IBM was transitioning from a classic waterfall software development process to agile and needed to have development teams adopt the new way. of working. I coached over 100 development teams across IBM’s CIO organization through enterprise Agile transformation, resulting in 20% increase in delivery predictability / adoption rate.
Since being agile required a clear and consistent way to set direction in the business areas, I facilitated dozens of cross-functional strategy workshops to define process improvement roadmaps, enabling leadership alignment and prioritization of at least 50 initiatives or programs. These workshops covered multiple business areas, Purchasing, Logistics, Partner Relationships, Technical Sales Support, Experienced Hire On-Boarding, Invoicing, RPA management, etc.
Rolled out OKRs across Finance and Supply Chain domains, guiding both leaders and teams to create measurable objectives, which improved transparency and reduced misalignment by 30%.
Facilitated an organization redesign workshop with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance organization to improve their ability to protect IBM from IT attacks. This resulted in the organization becoming nimble and collaborative on their operations.
Analyzed survey feedback from nearly 600 Scrum Masters, identified pain points, and co-developed an advanced training program covering topics, such as POWER statements, VSM, story splitting, and continuous improvement—leading to increase in Scrum Master capability / satisfaction rating.
IBM • September 2012 - June 2015 – Remote
Business Process Analyst
Internal support for hundreds of applications had low NPS scores and the ability of the help desk was hampered by excessive calls that should have been addressed with self-help. I modeled and streamlined support center operations using statistical methods, reducing average response time by 40% and improving customer satisfaction scores by 20%.
Led Lean Six Sigma DMAIC projects targeting operational inefficiencies, eliminating multiple redundant steps and delivering 25% cost savings / cycle time reduction.
Produced future-state workflows and process documentation for strategic initiatives, enabling cross-functional teams / business units to adopt standardized processes.
Consulted with multiple teams on applying control charts and statistical analysis to monitor process performance, resulting in more accurate identification of variation and actionable improvement opportunities.
Facilitated requirements gathering workshops with SMEs and stakeholders, capturing business needs and translating them into measurable process enhancements.
Partnered with IT to validate process changes through data-driven testing, ensuring new workflows were aligned with both operational needs and compliance standards.
IBM • September 1998 - September 2012 - Remote
Business Transformation Consultant
The CIO organization was experiencing inefficiencies in enterprise application development and deployment. I co-developed the Business Transformation Management System (BTMS), which standardized processes across global teams and resulted in faster cycle times, greater compliance, and improved delivery quality.
A successful transformation required strong adoption practices, so the team and I designed and delivered training programs, workflow applications, documentation, and requirements workshops to prepare users for process and system rollouts. These efforts enabled thousands of employees to transition to new tools and processes with greater confidence and proficiency, reducing rework and increasing productivity.
