Job Experience

Firefighter Paramedic-Salt Lake City Fire Department 1986-2008. While Employed with SLCFD I was the Public Education division for the department. Job description included scheduling, teaching, purchasing and budgeting to teach the citizens of Salt Lake City classes in CPR, First Responder First Aid, CERT, Fire Extinguisher, informing citizens what to do until the Fire Department arrives and my favorite, elementary school presentations.

Firefighter Paramedic- South Jordan Fire Department 2008-Dec. 2024. Shortly after being hired by SJFD I was asked to coordinate the American Heart Association CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) program administered by the department. This provided classes for every citizen in the city of South Jordan. While working for SJFD I strive to create an environment where families are welcome. I have organized the annual smoking butt competition/barbecue. A friendly competition and end of summer BBQ for members of SJFD. I have organized and cooked breakfast for burn camp NaNaMah. This includes planning a menu, finding volunteers and purchasing and cooking breakfast.

Community Outreach/First aid- I have a job working with the Commonspirit Holy Cross hospital network going to events and being a friendly face supporting the events and providing medical attention. I am used to events that have 500+ attendees and being an active participant.

Being a Firefighter is a job that required the ability to think and act on a split-second decision. I have been trained for the last 38 years to respond to emergencies without hesitation. I know these qualities will help to continue and improve any environment that I could work in.
