PMI-Boilermaker Maintenance/Turnaround March 2023-April 2023 Point Comfort TX. Take daily work orders from Forman. Pull permits, walk down jobs with operations to identify the correct procedure of lockout and tag out of system and equipment where work will take place. Gather all work material needed to complete each job task that day. Install blinds for isolation in flanges, valves, and vessels, using hand tools or power wrenches. Open vessels using hand and pneumatic tools. Prep vessels for entry by setting up an air ventilation system to meet requirements for confined space permit. Obtain a permit for entry. Dress out in all PPE required according to permit and Osha guidelines. Open piping systems for flushing. Completed the demo and refurbishing of Boiler mud and steam drums. Perform test and inspect hydrostatic, hydro, and rupture according to drawing, blue prints, client, third party, and PMI procedure and codes. Quality control of the piping system. Read blueprints and isometric drawings to identify coordinates and location of equipment to be serviced. Daily tasks included; operating a sitting forklift and overhead crane to move motors/generators and components to different work stations throughout the shop. Disassemble and reassemble AC motors, generator, and pumps, sand blast, steam clean and manual clean/prep parts. Operate a cutout saw/oxygen acetylene torch to pull motors, generators and pump from stature;and put them in the burn out oven.Check out parts and tools from the stockroom that are needed to perform daily mechanical tasks. Mow and clean grounds when or as instructed. Carried out daily housekeeping and safe work acts before, during, and after each task. Made diagnostics of all equipment malfunctions discovered during tear down and documented/took pictures attached with work order packages. Used computer skills and Microsoft office proficiency store all documentation in the office computer for tracking and verification purposes on all equipment and parts. Check oil levels, top off levels of equipment; cleaning equipment, keeping equipment covered and preserved from elements; aligning belts and shafts on pumps and motors using tension meters, and laser alignment; daily oiling of all rotating equipment; tightening of bolts, tubing fittings /etc. All these instructions or comments could be on a work order on any given day.
