· Identified and addressed a range of issues negatively impacting the ability of the Public Access Division of a Texas healthcare facility offering family-centered services to secure third-party reimbursements for services rendered. Conducted root cause analyses to determine nature of problem, researching reasons for denials by health insurance providers and identifying deficiencies in basic data entry, diagnostic coding, and other claims processing functions. Developed and implemented corrective measures governing Public Access Division operations including development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to address inaccuracies in patient and insurance provider information, a new pre-registration and revenue cycle process that reduced insurance provider denials, phone scripts to assure quality control, manuals and employee training to ensure a thorough pre-registration process, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor stakeholder compliance with new processes.
