Staff Nurse
A.Clinical Governance
1.To plan and manage the care of individual patients using the nursing process approach consisting of Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. 2.To demonstrate good and competent clinical skills, knowledge and critical thinking in the delivery of quality nursing skills.
3.To assist in the implementation of nursing standards and procedures. 4.To implement, practice and maintain infection control procedures and standards. 5.To respond and handle emergency situations in an efficient and calm manner, e.g. in Code Blue. 6.To be responsible and accountable for the handling and dispensing of drugs from the Automatic Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) and its administration, especially Controlled Drugs. 7.To provide education and advice to patients and relatives during hospitalization and on discharge.
8.To participate in the review of hospital occurrence reports and ensure plans are implemented to prevent future occurrence.
9.To be responsible for accurate nursing documentation of EMR via related Meditech system modules.
B.Nursing Management
1.To participate in physician rounds and carry out investigations/treatment as ordered. 2.To ensure customer satisfaction and follow through quality and services issues. 3.To assist in inventory checks, control and replenishment of consumables, pharmaceutical supplies, linen and other supplies within the department. 4.To perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager/Nurse Clinician. 5.To participate in departmental/hospital projects relating to quality improvement and others. 6.To be actively involved in committee/s at departmental or hospital level when nominated to represent on term or ad hoc basis.
C.Education & Training
1.To assist in the orientation and induction of all new junior staff. 2.To supervise and coach junior nurses in providing quality nursing care. 3.To assist in enhancing professional nursing development through continuous mentoring, coaching and role modeling.
4.To maintain current trends in nursing practice and management through formal education and staff development.

Under immediate supervision, renders holistic quality care to patients in the Medical-Surgical Unit utilizing the nursing process. Implements nursing care standards, hospital policies, rules and regulations. Participates in continuing education, training, staff development programs and research activities. A.Regular Duties
1.Renders holistic quality nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical Unit utilizing the nursing process:
a.Assesses a patient's condition through nursing history, physical examination, identification of objective and subjective signs and symptoms and review of medical records.
b.Develops a plan of care and prioritizes individualized patients’ needs and problems. c.Carries out doctors’ order on admission, medication treatments, diagnostic procedures, surgery, transfer and discharge.
d.Carries out a plan of care from admission until discharge of patient and refers to the physician accordingly.
e.Prepares and administers medications and other treatments as indicated. f.Prepares patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. g.Provides psychological, emotional, social and spiritual support to patients and relatives.
h.Give health teachings to patients and relatives. i.Provides a clean, safe and therapeutic environment. j.Evaluates patient care management in terms of appropriateness, adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency.
k.Documents and reports on the patient’s assessment and intervention and evaluation of patient care.
2.Makes proper endorsement for continuity of care. 3.Coordinates with different ancillary and support services through proper channels. 4.Implements nursing care standards, hospital policies, rules and regulations. 5.Assists in teaching and supervising the performance of assistive personnel, trainees and affiliates in the care of patients.
6.Maintains confidentiality and safekeeping of patient’s records. 7.Performs inventory, maintains and safekeeps equipment and hospital supplies in the unit. 8.Prepares charge slip / bills patients on procedures performed, hospital and supplies used. 9.Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time. B.Occasional Duties
1.Participates in meetings, continuing education, training, staff development programs and research activities.
2.Accomplishes reports of unusual incidents through proper channels promptly. Clinical Nurse (Utilization Management- Prior Authorization) 1. Responsible for performing pre-service clinical coverage review of services that require prior authorization, using applicable benefit plan documents, evidence- based medical policy and nationally recognized clinical guidelines and criteria.
2. Determined medical appropriateness procedures following evaluation of medical guidelines and benefit determination.
3. Review existing clinical documentations. Review/ interpret clinical/medical records submitted from provider) e.g., office records, test results).
4. Make final determinations based on clinical and medical policy guidelines. Summary:
