LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
Dear Human Resource Manager,
I am happy to have the opportunity to recommend Derryl Nowak for a position in your company.
Derryl has worked for AmesburyTruth for over twenty-five years. During his time with us he has held several key positions. He was hired as a Production Supervisor and was quickly promoted to Department Manager. At the time of his promotion, we were a tier one supplier in the automotive industry.
Department Manager Derryl was responsible for a three-shift operation with approximately 40 employees. His responsibilities included safety, budgeting, quality, on time delivery and financial results. Derryl is reliable, dependable and consistently met all objectives and his performance appraisals were always at the top of the rating scale.
After two sales of the company the business moved away from the automotive industry and our core business became Urethane door and window seals. At that time Derryl transitioned into a Buyer/Planner role. This was a fast-paced high-volume operation with many interrelated processes. Derryl played a key role in streamlining the various operations to reduce costs and maximize profit. As a Buyer/Planner he was also responsible for inventory management. Under his direction we saw a significant reduction in inventory as well as a huge improvement in accuracy.
Derryl has a strong work ethic and is very dependable. He understands the importance of his role and how it benefits the organization. He is highly organized and communicates extremely well at all levels.
There came a time during his tenure where there was a mandated direct overhead reduction across the entire organization. It was unfortunate that Derryl and many others in the salaried ranks were reduced. The reductions were strictly for financial reasons with no reflection on job performance. Less than twoyears later we had a significant increase in business, and we hired Derryl back immediately.
In September 2017 we announced that we would be closing the AmesburyTruth facilities in Amesbury, Massachusetts and Rochester, New York on December 31, 2018. If this was not the case Derryl would remain employed without question.
I am confident that Derryl will make an immediate impact in your organization. He has my highest recommendation, and I will be happy to provide more details if you would like additional information.
Sincerely,
Ken Pitts
