MOTION PICTURE SPECIAL EFFECTS TECHNICAN

1992 to Present

I have worked in the motion picture/television industry since 1992. The position requires me to execute theatrical special effects using a wide variety of tools and specialized equipment in a fast paces and often radically changing environment. Safety and attention to detail are paramount. Often the execution of these effects requires the use of explosives and other volatile materials. MOTION PICTURE SPECIAL EFFECTS FOREMAN

1994 to Present

I have worked as a foreman on various motion picture and television productions representing my employer and managing a crew of technicians charged with executing often potentially hazardous special effects in a safe and timely fashion. This position requires intimate contact with other departments, lianson and cooperation with the director and producers as well as maintaining logbooks, inventory, daily and weekly timecards. Flexibility and the ability to find solutions often with little or no warning is essential.

I was employed as a private contractor facilities maintenance carpenter at the FBI Training Facility located at Quantico, Virginia. This position required me to perform maintenance and make repairs to a wide variety of locations within the training complex. A knowledge of tools and blue print comprehension was a must.

ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION BUYER

2009-2011

I was employed as a Purchaser/Buyer by the L.E. Myers Company which was constructing two major transmission power line installations in Northern and Southwestern, Virgina. My responsibilities included maintaining an inventory of all expendables and necessary materials required to equip a large number of workers. Maintain inventory control, conducting liaison with foreman in the field to insure that all materials and supplies were ordered and delivered on a timely basis. I was supplied with a company vehicle, cell phone, credit cards, checks and lines of credit with numerous companies. I was required to maintain accurate and detail receipts and records of all purchases.

ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS YARD SUPERVISOR

I was employed as a Materials Handling Yard Supervisor by the L.E. Myers Company during the construction of a 100+ miles transmission power line. My position required me to manage a crew of up to 12 workers, insuring that tractor trailers were loaded and unloaded in a timely manner using rough terrain telehandlers. My responsibilities were varied but included insuring that tractor trailers were loaded safely with numbered and geographically specific steel tower parts and equipment to be delivered and assembled onsite. I was required to maintain accurate logbooks and inventory, to communicate with steel manufacturing representatives from Mexico, and communicate with foreman and line bosses in the field. I left this position when I was promoted to be the company buyer.
