Unit Support Coordinator/Charge Master Analyst

•Reconcile services provided by the Emergency Room to all patients.

•Enter all services accurately in a ED Charge ticket for each patient in a timely manner

•On a daily basis check for any past missing charges.

•Communicate with Revenue regarding account inquiries.

•Communicate with informatics to improve the ED charge ticket

•Update status on ED charges entered

•Provide ED weekly census to the ED Medical Director for staffing

•Update ED leadership when finding errors to improve care and safety provided to each patient.

•Attend huddle at beginning and end of shift to exchange report at the unit.

•Check daily to see what is needed for supplies and notify

when low for reordering.

•Monitor tracking shell for patients checking in and notify the charge nurse or any nurse if we have patients with chest pain, syncope, stroke like symptoms immediately. Timing is of importance.

•Set up transport when patients are being transferred to any hospital, via ambulance or helicopter.

•Make sure when a GEC patient is being admitted to SGMC that there is a bed before setting up transport.

•Gather the correct paper work or medical records.

according to where the patient is being transferred to.

•Place calls to any specialist when MD request on tracking shell.

•Activate STEMI when notified by MD.

•Make triage sheets and EMS pre-registration forms.

•Make sure on call list is received, copied and placed at provider’s desks.

Call the sono tech on call for the night. Answer phones, copy, fax, and scan.

Make sure DME forms are signed and printed as well as attached to facesheets.

Preregister patients when brought by ambo, print EMS report on patient.

Stock nurse’s station and EMS fridge with drinks, crackers, cookies, and sandwiches and notify dietary when low so they can bring dietary supplies.
