ZimChartered Marketer status (Marketers Association of Zimbabwe) The ZimChartered Marketer programme is a prestigious marketing status that is accorded to marketing professionals in Zimbabwe. The programme is accredited by five universities in Zimbabwe and the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM), Graduate School of Marketing, South Africa. It seeks to consolidate theory into practice through mentorship of a small to medium enterprise (SME) for a one-year period. The programme addresses the need for marketing professionals to be credible and results oriented. As part of the requirements for the chartered Marketer qualification, I worked with an SME in the beverages sector. My task was to carry out a business analysis, formulate strategies that are in line with their business goals and assess results. There was a lot of monitoring during this period thereby enabling adjustments to suite conditions prevailing in the business environment. Results The company managed to improve operational efficiencies, grow sales by 10% and brand visibility grew by 15%.
