Product Development Engineer/Product Manager
Rev-A-Shelf
Oct. 2017-Sept. 2020
• Design innovative multifunctional cabinet systems for a wide variety of cabinetry. The cabinet systems range from simple slide management pull out systems, to assistant systems for disabled bodies. Some applications also include an electrical component to the design. Once a product is designed, any further questions are referred back to me since I know the product in great detail.
• Created and manage the Co-op/Intern Program within the Engineering Department. I created the program after only being employed at Rev-A-Shelf for a couple of months.
• Teach the co-ops about our processes and our design methods. Show them how a company truly operates through multiple team interactions.
• Install new/existing cabinetry units to create instruction sheets or installation videos. Teach the marketing team how to properly install products.
• Work on a multiple person team to see products from start to finish. I will design a product, and see it through the marketing department, purchasing department, all the way to production of the product.
• Use 3-D modeling software (Creo-Parametric) to design products and evaluate their function in a cabinet.
• Work closely with the Digital Development Team in order to help mainstream certain outdated procedures. Perform trainings on these new updated processes to the Engineering team.
• Work closely with the Quality department to ensure products are held to a high quality standard
• Worked as a Product Manager for a year while holding the PD engineer title to learn the skills needed to accurately see products from start to finish
